This pendant is based on the traditional Irish Celtic cross dating back to the seventh century. The Celtic cross was a sign of Celtic Christianity but, interesting enough, was around well before the arrival Christianity. We’ve got more Celtic crosses here.

This is the standard Irish Licence plate in use since 1987. The blue band depicts the EU’s 12 stars. It is legally required to have the Irish language name of the county above the registration number.

First adopted as the Irish Flag in 1921 the “Tricolour” Irish flag consist of three colors, each color representing a different facet of Irish politics. The green signifies the predominantly Catholic Irish republicans. The orange represents the Irish protestants, who favor a union with Britain. The white represents the hope for a peace between the two communities.
When entering a Catholic church there is always a holy water font supplied so the faithful can bless themselves. It is also an Irish tradition to have one at home, filled with holy water from the church.
